Early New Year’s Evening

while starting dinner I took care of a little personal New Year’s tradition. Since I’m working the day job tomorrow I cleaned out the spice cabinet tonight and took stock (need Fines Herbs, need tarragon, how did I end up with so much oregano?) and put it all back. Out with the old bay leaves! In with the new!

and here’s the quote that popped up in the quote box while I was doing this:

The first principle of ethical power is Purpose… By purpose, I don’t mean your objective or intention-something toward which you are always striving. Purpose is something bigger. It is the picture you have of yourself-the kind of person you want to be or the kind of life you want to lead. — Kenneth Blanchard

Love to see your spices. I know they get well used.

Love the quote. It reminds me of one of my Dad’s favorite sayings which is simple but has been powerful for me, “Be the person you want to be.” Happy 2015 to you.
