And finally, some late Sunday haiku

And yes, I did defrost the freezer today. Always seems like a good thing to do on a really hot day. I wrote more, but some went to the first three postcards starting out tomorrow for August’s Postcard Poetry Festival.

yellow swallowtail
flew overhead, pursuing
the scent of flowers?

yellow butterfly
a glint against the blue sky
all this in a glimpse.

hot day in July
defrost refrigerator
ice in the garden

One Response to And finally, some late Sunday haiku

  1. AJ says:

Glimpses and yellowtails. We sat on the deck tonight, greeting birds and butterflies and the wind in the trees. Hummingbirds in the mix. And cardinals – males. And bluejays. And more wind. Light, always light, in all of its variety and mystery. Good.
