Things that make me grateful

just a little quiet shout out for people who are supportive and helpful in my moments of thinking and doubt or for no particular reason at all. I was thinking about something re my work this past week, sent off an email with a bit of ramble about it and got back a nice reply with some supportive arguments as to why I’m doing just fine and keep on doing what I’m doing.

You know how it is – you think that most of the time but then every once in a while you think: what the heck am I doing here?

The other nice thing was I’d brought that little strip of triangles to work to show Holly and the whole back of house crew was very interested in it and looked at it carefully and said all kinds of things about what they’d thought upon seeing the photo and now seeing it in person.

So there’s something to be said for not staying in your cave all the time, LOL. Sometimes talking with other people about what you’re doing gives you just the bit of reinforcement you need to keep going.

    That all sounds great.

A quilt came home…. We went to Spokane to visit Nathaniel and his wife Melynnda on our way to Lady of the Lake contra dance camp (on Lake Coeur d’Alene, at the camp where John and I met, and then got married almost 10 years ago) and Nathaniel says, “this was in Richard’s stuff, do you want it?” Any guesses? Yup, the Mt St Helens quilt. I made 2 o-so long ago, as gifts for the members of our Mt St Helens’ excursion, and I hadn’t seen this one since about 1996. Boy are we using different colors and fabrics now…. I haven’t been to Mt St Helens for a while.

We also got to see Melynnda at a dressage riding event. She’s good! She has a grey (mostly white) mustang – yes an actual mustang who can do dressage, that someone there referred to as “the Lipizanner gone wild” ha!

Two weeks until my 40th high school reunion…how did THAT happen?
