What’s happening?

My little plug-in tells me it’s been a few days since I posted. LOL nothing like a digital prod, I always say.

I’ve been working early shifts and suffering from the wee-hour-prods-of-persistant-cats. AKA, they’re waking me up at unreasonable hours with whiskers in my face, giving me full body walking massages etc. Therefore, I am tired. I’m sure my exhaustion is the only reason why I unreasonably bought a new supply of food for critters so annoying.

I’m still in the pondering phase of how to do a reasonable facsimile of my quilt plan in the shortened amount of time and no path is pulling ahead towards a win there.

Saturday I attended the funeral of my Uncle Frank who died quietly at 92 after a long and good life. At the funeral, one of his granddaughters spoke eloquently of him and the things she had learned from him. It was perhaps one of the best funerals I’ve ever attended in that it was very respectful and remembering of Uncle Frank, supportive of the family and personal. It was capped at the cemetery with a small military ceremony and presentation of the flag. I had never seen one of these in person and it was more moving than many of us, even us peace-niks, imagined and exactly right as a close to Frank’s life, who served well in World War II and at home in the service of veterans.

Later in the day I attended a post-wedding reception for Jackie and Matt and it was a good time of a different type. Good time was had by all, good food, just enough alcohol and much happiness for two who have found love together.

Found out that I can get a bit below sticker price on a new car through a benefit program at work. Anything to reduce the total cost of a car is a good thing, but the best thing of all is that it makes a set price for the car leaving the only negotiable part the trade-in value of the old one. Yeah! I hate that whole game play.

It’s mostly grey and windy today but there was a glimpse of something shiny up there in the sky earlier. Guess I’ll have to start buttoning up the windows.
